Beyond Machines explanation

So, I think it's time to begin talking about my project, Beyond Machines. You'll remember this image from last time:
So what are we looking at? Well, it's like this...

Beyond Machines is an Endless Runner... But I would be more inclined to call it an Endless Walker. Since our hero (Played by Glacious from Killer Instinct for the sake of concept) will spend the entire game walking. Why? Well, let's break down the premise.

In a future where machines have begun to subjugate humanity, they have turned to experimentation. One such human was transfused with metal and electromagnetic powers. But against all calculations, he broke free, and began his trail of revenge…

It's a basic concept. I wanted to keep it simple to provide a framework for the concept of a hybrid human destroying all robots, and give room for expansion should we have more development time to add more story elements.

So back to the gameplay. What are those circles? Well, the way the game works is that your movement is fixed to a sidscrolling 2D plane, with the game itself using 3D Models. 2.5D in other words. Your movement will be fixed as your character is on auto walk. As you walk forward, you'll be attacked by enemies, of which there are three varieties. Your character, has three abilities that will destroy an enemy without you losing health. Lose all your health, and it's game over.

The circles are to represent the touch controls. I have this game intended for iOS, for the sake of simplicity. Each circle correlates to a different move, with both the ability and the enemy having matching colours to provide an extra U.I element to the player. So for example, the tank pictured in the image has yellow highlights. So you use the yellow ability, which is an electromagnetic beam. It pierces through the tank's armor and destroys it, with you taking no damage.

In this sense, I imagine the game working almost like a rhythm game. You need to attune to a timing to how the enemies appear, and reacting in the right way.

That's all for now. Next time i'll be going into more detail about the different enemies you'll encounter throughout the game. Seeya next time!
